Taverna Napa first opened its doors in 1976, when Ayia Napa was still a quiet fishing village. Founded by our beloved father Chris Ashiotis, the taverna began with a simple vision: to welcome guests with genuine Cypriot hospitality and serve the kind of food that brings people together around the table.


Nearly five decades later, that same spirit still defines everything we do.

Our taverna is housed in a traditional Cypriot home built in 1918, located at the northern entrance of Ayia Napa. The building itself carries more than a century of history, and its warm stone walls, courtyard atmosphere, and rustic charm create the setting for an experience that feels timeless.


For many of our guests, visiting Taverna Napa is not just a meal. It is a small journey into the authentic character of Cyprus.

At the heart of Taverna Napa are family recipes passed down through generations. Many of the dishes served today are still prepared by our beloved Aunt and Chef Niki, using the traditional methods and flavours that have long been part of our family table.


We carefully select fresh, high-quality ingredients every day. Our seafood arrives daily from local fishermen, while fresh vegetables, local products, and extra virgin olive oil give our dishes their authentic Mediterranean character.


From traditional Cypriot plates to our homemade desserts, everything is prepared in our kitchen with the same care we would give when cooking for our own family.
